Biography
Kevin was born on 6th Nov 1943 and
lived in Wybunbury Road, Willaston near
Nantwich until he was 10 years old and at that
time his Mother and Father died within two
months of each other. He was then fostered by his
Father's sister Irene and her husband Norman
Shaw.
He attended Willaston County Primary School from
the age of three and a half entering, initially,
the nursery class. He became a member of
Wistaston Church Choir at the age of 7 years and
left when he was 16 yrs old.
He was a noted local footballer
in his teens and was the only pupil from the
‘old’ Willaston CP School ever to play regularly
for Crewe Town Schoolboys XI (1957-1958 season).
He went on to Captain the Town team the
following season.
Kevin worked for British Rail
at Crewe from the age of 15 years until he was
19 years old as an Apprentice Instrument Maker
at the Signal & Telegraph Workshops in Gresty
Road, Crewe.
In October 1963 at the age of 19
years, he joined the British Army (Royal
Electrical & Mechanical Engineers) as an
Electronics Technician and served nine
years (four and a half years in West Germany). He
attained the rank of Sergeant within the first
six years and remained at that rank for the
remainder of his service.
He left the Army in 1972 and
worked in the manufacturing
industry in a senior management position for 12 years. He then worked
in senior management in the Financial
Services industry from 1984 until retirement in
2007/8 (due to cancer). At that time he set up his
own professional photography business
specialising in portrait and fashion
photography.
He married Pamela Susan Randle on
16th Mar 1978 in Crewe.
Kevin married twice, the above
record is his second marriage only. He has lived in
various places in the Crewe/Nantwich area.
