Biography
Alfred was born in Nantwich
on 2nd Jul 1916. He met his wife Phyllis Leather
at Beeston Castle and they married during Aug
1938.
Alfred worked for the Post
Office Engineering (now British Telecom) for
many years and is said to have taken over his
father's job as Chief Engineer when his father
retired.
He is recorded to have lived
with his wife at 3 Albion Street, Crewe for
about 30 years. They had three children.
Alfred was a keen painter and
photographer and he died during Mar 2004 in
Crewe at the age of 87 years.
