Biography
Irene Mollie was born on 28th
Mar 1916 in Willaston, Nantwich and was always
known as Mollie.
She lived at 25 Wistaston Road,
Willaston as a child and married her childhood
sweet-heart, Norman Shaw, on 7th Sep 1940.
Mollie and Norman then lived at 58 Wybunbury
Road, Willaston for the rest of their lives.
They did not have any children.
She with her husband Norman
became foster parents and looked after her
nephews (SA01 & 07) when their father died in
1954.
Mollie is known to have been
a machinist in her younger days in a sewing
factory in Crewe. She is also known to have had
a job at a garden nursery for a while and also
worked in the canteen at the 'old' Willaston
County Primary School.
Mollie suffered a series of
heart attacks in her later years and finally
died as a result on 14th Jan 1992. She was
buried on 20th Jan 1992 at Wistaston Churchyard
in the same grave as her mother and husband.
