William was born in
Whitchurch Abt. 1865 and baptised on 22nd Aug
1865. He moved to Stapeley, Nantwich with his
father when his mother died in 1868.
He was shown in 1881 to be
living with his father and step-mother at 76
Broad Lane, Stapeley at the age of 15 years and
was recorded to have been a Scholar at that
time.
William married Martha during the third quarter
1885 and lived with her in Broad Lane, Stapeley
in the early years of their marriage.
William
was then recorded to have lived in many
different places in Nantwich including 21
Vauxhall, Nantwich in 1891 and 27 Albert Street,
Nantwich in 1901. He was shown to have had
various occupations including Groom and
Stableman.
William and Martha moved to Ellesmere Port,
Cheshire and were shown to be lodging with their
son Ernest and his wife in 1911 at 8 Ashfield
Road. Ellesmere Port. William’s occupation at
that time was General Labourer at an Ironworks.
William died in the West Cheshire area during
the last quarter of 1950 at the age of 85 years.
William's name is recorded as
William Edwin in the majority of documents seen,
however his name is also recorded as William
Edward and William Henry (info from descendant).
